Ring, Inlay, Horse Profile, Turquoise, Mike Simplicio Hallmark, Vintage, 1639
FOR THE TRUE HORSE LOVER
The Simplicio family has long been revered for their remarkable jewelry, and this stunning piece by Mike Simplicio is a classic example of his signature style. The focal point is a horse head in profile, crafted inlay style with black onyx and mother of pearl with silver accents. The inlay is framed by sterling silver fluted drops and leaf applique, accented by a freeform nugget of turquoise in a serrated bezel.
Mike Simplicio (1937 – 1976; Zuni). Active 1950s – 1970s. Nugget work; appliqué. The late Mike Simplicio shared marks with his wife Sarah Simplicio. Son of Dan Simplicio.
