Bolo, Inlay, Horse, Turquoise, Simplicio, Vintage, 1519
ADD A LITTLE AWESOME TO YOUR OUTFIT.Â
This is a piece by the late Mark Simplicio, a talented Zuni artisan whose name you’ve likely heard if you’ve been a fan of DDR for long. The sterling silver slide features a striking inlay depiction of a horse in profile, crafted from tortoise shell and mother of pearl, accompanied by two stones of bright blue turquoise, all set in tiny serrated bezels. The cord is a traditional braided leather tipped with sterling silver aiguillettes. A fun, unique piece for any cowboy or cowgirl!
Isabel Simplicio (1928 – ?; Zuni). Mosaic inlay; nuget work. Wife of Chauncey Simplicio.
